Rda/Bee Factors

RDA - Recommended Daily Allowance of all recommended dietary nutrients.

BEE - Basal Energy Expenditure - Minimum amount of energy needed by the body to maintain life

The RDA factors are used in conjunction with the resident's sex, age, weight and height to determine ideal body weight BEE and RDA requirements.

The options on this screen allow you to enter the information necessary for calculating a resident's BEE and actual RDA requirements.

Select the RDA factor you want to work with. The factor names are displayed. You can now Modify or delete any of those factors or add a new one

To Add a factor, click Add a RDA/Bee Factor. Enter the factor name in the supplied field, enter the numeric factor then click Save.

To Change a factor, select the factor then click Edit. Modify the factor name/factor then click Save when done.

To Delete a factor, select the factor you want to delete, then click the X. Confirm the deletion.

 

Activity Level. Choose From:

CONFINED TO BED/SEDENTARY        1.20

OUT OF BED / LIGHT ACTIVITY        1.30

MEDIUM ACTIVITY        1.50

HEAVY ACTIVITY        1.75

Injury Level. Choose From:

NORMAL MAINTENANCE/STAGE I PRESSURE ULCER        1.00

MINOR OPERATION, STAGE II PRESSURE ULCER, MILD INFECTION.        1.20

SKELETAL TRAUMA STAGE III PRESSURE ULVER, MODERATE INF        1.35

MAJOR SEPSIS STAGE IV PRESSURE ULCER, ANABOLISM        1.60

SEVERE THERMAL BURN        2.10

CANCER        1.40

Protein Need. Choose From:

MAINTENANCE STAGE I PRESSURE ULCER        .80

ELECTIVE SURGERY STAGE II PRESSURE ULCER        1.00

INJURY OR MAJOR INJURY STAGE III PRESSURE ULCER        1.20

SEVERE SEPSIS OR CANCER STAGE IV PRESSURE ULCER        1.50

STAGE III PRESSURE ULCER        1.30
