Entering a Menu

To create a new Cycle menu:

 1. From the "Details" Column, select Cycle Menus. That section will expand to display the selections under Cycle Menus. Click Cycle Menu Features.

2. Click Add a Cycle Menu. A form appears for you to enter the name of the new cycle and the number of weeks in that cycle. When done, click CREATE

 

Note: The cycle has been created but it is a blank cycle. You can now start to add food items to the cycle

 

 To enter Food Items into your menu:

1.Click the Cycle Menus section in Details. Then click Change Menu.

2.  The window below appears. From "Jump to...” Use the drop down menus to select the Cycle, Week, Day and Diet you want to start working on.

To Add an item:

1.Click the Add a {meal name} Menu Item link.

2.A window is displayed where you can search and add an item to the menu. Enter the name of the food item you want to add in the search field.

3.When the item appears on the list, select the specific item you want to add, select the portion size (the portion box displays all portions available). Select the menu category, priority, Resident group options if any Resident group is to be used.

4.Check the diets that you want to apply this item to. If they are un-checked the item will not be added to that diet. You can use the "Select All" or "Clear All" buttons to manipulate the diet selections all at once.

5.Click the Save Menu Item button to save the current selection. The food item are added to the menu and displayed on the cycle menu page.

         Repeat the process for each food category (Entree, vegetable, Starch, etc.) you want to add.

When you have completed a meal, select the next meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and repeat the process for that meal.

When you have completed a day's meals, select the next day to work on from the Jump to... section of the Cycle Menus page.
